As temperatures fall, air contracts. This means your tires lose pressure when it gets colder.

• Expect about 1 to 2 PSI loss for every 10°F drop
• This applies to all bike tires, including fat tires

Lower tire pressure can make your bike feel sluggish and increase rolling resistance, which will impact your battery range.

Tire Rubber Becomes Stiffer

The correct pressure depends on your tire size, your weight, and the type of riding you do.

• Most e-bike tires: 35–70 PSI (pounds per square inch)

• Mountain or fat tires: 20–35 PSI (for better traction on dirt or sand)

• City or commuter tires: 50–70 PSI (for smoother pavement rides)

You can check the sidewall of your tire to find the recommended pressure. Tire manufacturer lists the recommended PSI range on the sidewall. Stay within the listed pressure range.

You can adjust the pressure slightly based on your comfort and the surface you are planning to ride on.

Keeping your tires properly inflated helps your motor perform more efficiently, can help extend your battery duration, and extends your tire life.

1. Check your valve type: Most bikes use either Schrader (car-style) or Presta (narrow, high-performance) valves. Match your valve type with the pump that you are using. If you’re using Presta tires, you can get a Schrader adapter so your tires will match any pump.
2. Use a quality bike pump: A floor pump with a pressure gauge works best.
3. Attach the pump securely: Match the pump head to your valve type and ensure it’s tight before pumping.
4. Inflate to the correct PSI: Stay within the range printed on your tire.
5. Replace the valve cap: The cap helps keep dust and moisture out.

✅ 1. Battery Charge & Connection

• What to check: Make sure your battery is fully charged or has enough range for your planned ride. Confirm it’s properly connected and locked into place.

• Service it: Clean battery contacts regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water near ports and plugs.

• Seek help if: Your battery isn’t holding a charge, disconnects mid-ride, or the range seems to drop suddenly—these are signs it may need repair or replacement.

✅ 2. Tire Pressure & Condition

• What to check: Inspect both tires for wear, embedded debris, and proper inflation. E-bike tires often require higher pressure than standard bikes.

• Service it: Use a floor pump with a pressure gauge to keep tires at the recommended PSI listed on the sidewall.

• Seek help if: You notice bulging, cracking, or constant deflation—these could indicate a slow leak or a tire ready to be replaced.
