Stop 2: Ride Along Carlsbad’s Coastal Trail

No romantic date is complete without chocolate! Head to the Strawberry Shack on the 101 in Carlsbad Village (beside Starbucks) where you can indulge in chocolate-covered, locally-grown strawberries and other indulgent strawberry treats including shortcakes, shakes, and sundaes.

Stops 4 & 5: Oceanside Pier & the Love Lock Sculpture 🌊
From there, ride up the coast to Oceanside Pier, one of the most scenic spots in North County San Diego. This is a great spot to stop for a stretch.
The Oceanside Pier is the longest wooden pier (1,942 feet) in California. It was first built in 1888 and opened in 1987. The current version is the sixth one built. There was a fire at the end of the Pier in April, 2024.
Roughly 90 percent of the Pier has reopened while the west end undergoes reconstruction. Walk along the pier, check out the fishermen and women, and breathe in the salty ocean air!
Hop back on your bikes and head North to Oceanside’s Love Lock sculpture. Titled Love the O, the sculpture is located at the Oceanside Harbor beach.
Love locks are padlocks on with names, a special date, or something sentimental etched onto them. The idea is to lock it onto the sculpture and throw away the key as a symbol of your love.
Bring your personalized lock to add to the sculpture or simply enjoy the view while holding hands. Love the O is an awesome photo op, too – take advantage of it!

Stop 5: Sunset Dinner at a Beachfront Restaurant
